While a student and ballroom dancer at Brigham Young University, Julia was introduced to Pilates and discovered that she has scoliosis and kyphosis—an over-curvature of the thoracic vertebrae (upper back).  Practicing a diligent Pilates regimen, she minimized the discomfort and noticed a positive and marked change in her spine and posture. These significant changes inspired and motivated her to pursue a certification; she graduated from the teacher-training program at Streamline in 2009.  Julia loves to study movement and is amazed by the vision and deep understanding about the human mind, body and soul that Joseph Pilates had 100 years ago. She enjoys working with her clients and facilitating changes toward health and happiness.

Julia has over 7 years experience teaching all levels of both mat and equipment classes. She has a deep sense of understanding in regards to the needs of her clients and works diligently to design a specialized program for each individual. 

In addition to Pilates, Julia continues her education and professional development by taking yoga, Pilates, Feldenkrais, Melt Method and Xtend-Barre classes and workshops and has completed her Master's Degree in Social Work. 

In her spare time, Julia enjoys a wide variety of sports including rock climbing, canyoneering and hiking.  She is committed to wellness and fitness.  ​
